ABOUT US
TEAM LIONHEART
Meet our Senior Leadership Team

My leadership philosophy is rooted in transformation and empowerment.
I believe, inspired by my own experiences, in giving back to students who are facing challenges.
I focus on creating opportunities for students who feel disengaged, ensuring they receive support and encouragement, working with strong role models to guide them towards success.

My educational philosophy emphasises inclusion and belonging, with a strong focus on relational practices.
I value a trauma-informed approach, understanding the impact of trauma on learning and well-being.
By fostering safe, supportive environments, I aim to build, repair, and maintain relationships, empowering students to thrive academically and emotionally.

I believe that the most vulnerable students in our community deserve the best we can give them in order to access all the amazing opportunities the world has to offer.
In my role as curriculum lead I aim to encourage a love for learning, delivered by staff who are passionate about what they teach. We focus on learning that is relevant to our students and our community in order to prepare our students for the wider world.
The curriculum is designed in a way that is sensitive and responsive to the needs of students who have experienced trauma. It is based on a set of principles that support recovery, safety, involvement, and adaptation. It helps learners develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a trauma-informed manner.

I am deeply invested in teaching and learning and believe students within our community deserve the best teachers.
I strive to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed. Alongside collaborating with our dedicated staff, a key focus of my work is integrating trauma-informed practices into our teaching and learning strategies. By understanding and addressing the impact of trauma on our students, we can create a safe and supportive environment that promotes healing and academic success.

As part of the Senior Leadership Team, I am the Attendance and Safeguarding Lead (DSL) at Lionheart School.
I am passionate about creating a safe, inclusive environment where every young person feels heard, valued and supported to thrive.
With over 25 years of experience in safeguarding and a strong background in multi-agency working, I work closely with social care, education and health partners to remove barriers to learning and improve attendance.
I am committed to ensuring that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and that the voices of our students are at the heart of everything we do.

As the SENCo at Lionheart School, I am passionate about ensuring that all students are fully supported to thrive.
I work closely with all stakeholders to create an inclusive environment where every student – whether following a mainstream, adapted or bespoke curriculum – can access learning, develop essential life skills, prepare for the wider world beyond school and reach their full potential.

As the Alternative Provision Lead Teacher at Lionheart, I am passionately committed to providing educational opportunities that make students feel safe, supported, and truly understood.
Rooted in trauma-informed, relational practice, we create bespoke learning pathways that empower young people to become confident, happy learners who are able to thrive and succeed.
With over twenty years of experience in education, I remain dedicated to cultivating a positive, inspiring, and nurturing environment—one in which every student’s progress is recognised, encouraged, and celebrated.
