Alison is our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo), a statutory role that ensures children with additional needs are identified early, supported through the DfE‑required graduated approach (Assess–Plan–Do–Review), and given personalised plans that help them make progress. She works closely with teachers to guide high‑quality SEN support, keeps the SEN register and provision mapping up to date, coordinates input from external professionals, and maintains clear communication with parents as required under the Children and Families Act 2014. Alison also helps the school meet its legal SEND duties by overseeing inclusive practice, ensuring reasonable adjustments are made, and supporting staff development so every child can access learning and thrive.
