The overarching ethos of the English curriculum is to empower students with the skills and knowledge to become confident and effective communicators, both orally and in writing, whilst fostering a love for literature and a deeper understanding of the world through written and spoken language.

This includes developing critical thinking, appreciating cultural diversity whilst building a strong foundation for future learning and participation in society.
